Dear Hyperbaric Team:
My son Tyler Jones is twelve and at the age of eight he was diagnosed with
asperger’s syndrome which is on the autism spectrum. Although he is a
high-functioning child, there are issues that affect his daily life and our
family along with him. A by-product of his condition is that he has ADHD and
while he excels academically, he has trouble in the classroom because he tends
to blurt out answers to every question the teacher asks and becomes easily
frustrated. He has sensory issues and fine motor difficulties.
We have been coming to
the
Hyperbaric
Therapy
Center
for several weeks now and we had noticed subtle changes but powerful
nonetheless. Around the second and third time
Tyler
went in the chamber, he fell asleep. This might not seem like much, until you
consider the fact that
Tyler
has not taken a nap since he was 16 months old. He is also sleeping through the
night, which he has never done before. He has expressed to us that he feels
calmer, more comfortable. He has been making new friends which we believe is due
to the fact that he is exhibiting more appropriate behavior. We have noticed,
and his teachers have commented as well, that he has been having less and less
“blow-ups” or “melt-downs” both at home and at school.
Tyler
enjoys going into the chamber with his sister
Kelsi, who is nine years old. Sometimes they link their gameboys so they can
play each other, and other times they read or do their own thing, but they
definitely love going in together.
We look forward to
continuing therapy and the wonderful benefits it brings.
God Bless
Kristi Jones
